10 Things Lion Stole / Borrowed from iOS

Mac OS X Lion was released earlier this week, and a number of changes were seen which Lion has stolen or borrowed from iOS -

1. Launchpad - Almost identical to iOS's Springboard or Home screen ( What they use to launch their applications )

2. Resume - Presumably stolen due to high amount of praise received by iOS for it's Multitasking which allows you to open applications exactly as you left them with much shorter loading delay times.

3. Inverted or "Natural" Scrolling - Scrolling on Lion is now similar to that in iOS Devices ( iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad ) However it feels weird using it on a computer. Perhaps it'll take some getting used to.

4. New Look of iCal and Address Book - Address book and iCal in Lion now feature a new look which is almost an exact replica of the iPad version of the same.

5. Gestures - Many new multitouch Gestures were added to Lion  most of which were very similar to those on iOS Devices.

6. App Store - The Mac App Store idea was obviously stolen, although genially, from the success of the App Store on iOS.

7. Autosave -  Autosave has always been present on iOS Devices ( iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch ) and this was no doubt thought about when it was added to Lion.

8. Facetime - Facetime was a feature originally only present on iOS Devices with a camera. However this has now expanded into Macs too which is no doubt a useful function for calling people with another Apple Device.

9. Switch between Full Screen Apps through Gestures - Not many people know this, but iOS 4.3 beta first saw the ability to let you use gestures to swipe between applications or to activate the multitasking bar.

10. Mail - Mail on Mac OS X Lion now brings to you the same loved two column format of Mail that was seen on iPad with even newer features like Conversations, Reading Bar
