iPod Touch - A Social Device ?

Is the iPod Touch being marketed as a social device ? With new and increasing ways of communicating with friends through this device its almost equivalent to a phone. In fact if it weren't for the lack of 3G, it could have been used as a phone. And not just any ordinary phone. An advanced touchscreen phone with internet capability and hundreds of thousands of applications and games to choose from. iMessage for messaging services. Skype and Facetime for calling ( video or audio calls ), Game centre for playing games and sharing scores with your friends, Camera for taking and sharing photos and Facebook, twitter and other social networking applications are also quite easily available ( generally as free apps ). Its possible that this is, intentionally or unintentionally, Apple's new method for marketing the Device. And its working.

iPod Touch - Black and White

iPod Touch - Now available in Black and White

On the 4th of October - iPhone 4S event, Apple also announced the release of a new iPod Touch with 2 color options - Black or White. With 2 cameras, HD video recording, Retina Display, Facetime, iCloud, iOS 5 ( including iMessage ) as well as the hundreds of thousands of applications and games designed for it, the most popular iPod is likely to become even more popular. Although it hasn't changed much, the vast array of capabilities of the brilliantly designed and cheaply priced iPod make it an attractive option. Starts at $199 for the 8GB model and a $100 increment for 32 and 64 GB models each.

What they missed out on

3G capability - People love the 3G capability of the iPad and iPhone. Using the internet while on the go is a very attractive and time-saving feature. Although it may not have had much use in the iPod Touch previously, with the coming of iMessage and the increasing use of facetime, 3G capability is almost a necessity in the device.

Update to iOS 5

iOS 5

Did you know that you can update your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to iOS 5 whenever you want provided you're a registered iPhone Application Developer.

No Jailbreaking iOS 5 on iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch

iOS 5 which as we know, is the most advanced software update for iOS Devices ( iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch ) so far. However it will not be released by Apple until this fall. Apple developers on the other hand can download it today. And as rumour has it, Apple's latest software update will not allow downgrading to previous versions of iOS. Now our best guess is that this is Apple's attempt to prevent Jailbreaking and if a Jailbreak isn't released for iOS 5, this may result in us having to choose between Jailbreaking and iOS 5.

Battery life on iOS Devices is pretty good anyway. But when you find yourself in a tough spot where you need to conserve your battery, these tips might prove handy -

The iPad Tip Series 6 - Power off

So you can still play games which include motion controls. To use the simply flick the switch on the right hand side of your iPad. Alternatively, double press the home button to activate multitasking slide the bottom panel bar towards the right. And touch the rotation lock button.

iOS 5 Release Date ( Expected, Rumoured )

When is iOS 5 Releasing ? Apple says "this fall" but nothing more specific. However, judging by the fact that Apple tends to release its newest software along with their newest piece of Hardware, we suspect that it will be released it September along with iPhone 5 ( Assuming that's what it's called ). Our best Release Date prediction in September 7th, 2011 ( CNET Tech UK )

The iPad Tip Series 5 - Take a Screenshot

Take a snapshot of your entire iPad Screen. Simply press the Home Button and Sleep / Power Button simultaneously and it will get saved to your photos app in the album "Saved Photos"

The iPad Tip Series 4 - Create Folders

To create a folder in iOS on iPad, touch and hold an app until it starts shaking ( vibrating ). Then touch and hold the app again and drag it into another app. A folder will be created and name automatically based on the genre of your apps. Add more apps to the folders in the same way.

Facebook Touch

If you use Facebook a lot, or even a little ( Which you probably do ) on your iPod, iPhone or iPad ( iDevice ), then you might want to start going on touch.facebook.com instead. A great website designed by The Facebook Team specifically for Touch Devices is a great alternative to Facebook.com Another option is to download the Facebook app for iPhone. Sadly there is no such app for iPad yet.

No More Downgrading in iOS 5

iOS 5 which as we know, is the most advanced software update for iOS Devices ( iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch ) so far.

Emoji Emoticons on iOS 5

Apparently one of the other features on iOS 5  is that it's going to have emoji emoticons integrated into the Operating System. In notes, messages, mail, etc which according to me seems like quite a cool feature. And it's only one of over 200...

Zoom on iPad

Zoom on iPad is extremely useful. With this you can zoom in on any screen without much blurring. It's also quite easy to setup. Simply go to Settings - General - Accessibility - Zoom.
Now change the "Zoom" switch to On. Read the instructions below the switch or read the instructions in the image above.

Why the new rotation lock ?

With the iOS 4.2 update for iPad came a change in the rotation lock. The new way to lock the current orientation of the iPad is by double tapping the home button, swiping the bottom bar to the right and tapping the orientation lock button. The old rotation-lock toggle switch is now a mute switch like in the iPhone. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Jailbreaking - The How, The Why and The Where

So, What is Jailbreaking ?

Basically, jailbreaking is a way to modify your iPhone/ iPod touch/ iPad in ways which apple won't include in their iOS software. for eg, adding cool battery logos, slider themes and even downloading paid apps for free. (that last part is illegal and i wont be telling you how to do that )

Okay... Why should i do that ?

Review Of iPod Touch 4

The iPod Touch... one of the best selling ipods, huh ? Why ?
Well, for one, its multi touch. There's NO ONE who doesnt like that. And then, the obvious "accelerometer" (motion sensor for gaming and stuff), wi-fi, music, videos.
So, what's in the new one ?
